Opening Films

This year's BISFF is set to kick off with a dynamic showcase of three opening films: one from the guest country, one from Asia, and one from Korea. For the first time since BISFF's inception, the opening films are chosen from the Korean and International Competitions rather than being invited. This adjustment reflects BISFF's commitment to showcasing the latest trends in short films from Korea and across the globe, ensuring attendees experience cutting-edge cinematic innovations. At the opening ceremony, ‘DIVE’, an Italian film, ‘Cross My Heart and Hope to Die’, a Filipino film, and ‘My Mother’s Story’, a Korean film, will be screened. These three films may seem similar at first glance, but each offers a distinct and intensive perspective on the world beyond our own, as seen through the eyes of their respective filmmakers.

* Some scenes of the opening films contain parts with strong and violent contents that may be harmful or traumatizing to some audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.
