Film Submissions

BISFF has established itself as the “Hub of Asian Shorts” by introducing various new short films from around the world every year, while also promoting Korean short films to the world. The purpose of BISFF is to discover and introduce outstanding short films directed around the world. Moreover, BISFF aims to bring the world’s latest and hidden gem-like shorts in the spotlight.

The 41st Busan International Short Film Festival will introduce and award various short films completed after 2023. Thank you for your interest and participation in the submissions for BISFF 2024.

BISFF is a qualifying festival for:
Academy Awards - Oscars® (Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences)
Premios Goya (Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España)
Canadian Screen Awards / Prix Écrans Canadiens (Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television / Académie Canadienne du Cinéma et de la Télévision)
British Academy Film Awards - BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts)

Requirements

Films completed after January 1, 2023
Maximum running time: 30 minutes (including ending credits)
All categories: Fiction, Animation, Documentary, Experimental

※ Korean Premiere is not required

※ Applications must be submitted via a submission platform and the preview (online screener) must be uploaded.

Refund

Once the submission is completed, both the submission fee and the site fee are non-refundable.

If the submission has been made twice on the same platform, one of the submission fees may be refunded.
Withdraw entry will only be accepted after the discussion with the festival program team. Due to the preliminary selection may be in progress or already been completed, so submission fee will not be refunded.
Registration fee for two platforms is not refundable if needed please contact the platform directly.
